Safety is one of the biggest concerns within today’s manufacturing facilities. Safe machinery equipment operation is one of the top priorities within plants and one which management takes seriously. That’s where Shuttleworth’s Slip-Torque® roller technology comes in.
The Slip-Torque conveyor technology has evolved throughout our 55 years of practical applications in numerous industries. It’s based on polished stainless steel shafts individually powered by flexible belts on a line shaft or by a continuous chain. These stainless steel shafts are covered with segmented, loose-fit rollers, which become the conveyor surface.
It’s the weight of the product being conveyed combined with the coefficient of friction between the shafts and the inside diameter of the rollers that provides the driving force. As the weight of the product increases, there is a corresponding increase in the driving force supplied. As the product stops, the segmented rollers beneath it also stop, creating very low back-pressure accumulation and reducing product damage.
With Shuttleworth’s Slip-Torque roller technology, you can literally put your hand on the conveyor when it’s in motion – and not worry about safety concerns. Watch our Automate 2017 video to see for yourself the many benefits of this technology –
